Sunglasses make a great fashion accessory, but more importantly, sunglasses are of extreme importance when it comes to maintaining good eye health. Here is a list of 5 reasons why you should wear sunglasses.

Sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
The obvious benefit of sunglasses is to keep the sun out of your eyes. Cancer of the eyelids and skin around the eyes is more common than people think. People should wear sunglasses outdoors whether they are working, driving, participating in sports, taking a walk, running errands or doing any prolong activities in the sun. Without protection from UV rays, your eyes are at greater risk for sight-stealing conditions like cataracts.

Cut down on glare.
Polarized sunglasses help to cut down on glare and make things much clearer. All surfaces reflect light. Surfaces like water, snow, and windshields can cause bright reflections that are distracting and can interfere with vision and create safety hazards. And without all that squinting, you’ll reduce your chance of wrinkles.

Protect your eyes and look good while playing sports.
Whether you are golfing, skiing, boating or fishing they come in useful keeping, dust, rain and bugs out of your eyes. Sunglasses improve your performance. The right lens can improve your golf game or help you see a tennis ball better.

Sunglasses reduce eye strain.
If you work or spend a lot of time outside, dark sunglass lenses can help reduce eyestrain on tired eyes caused by bright light.

Sunglasses make you look cool.
Let’s face it, sunglasses do make you look cool and fashionable. Is there any other way to make you look more mysterious or keep other people from recognizing you?
